DELTA is about change. Change from who you are to what God intends for you to be. A team of students and adults who have participated in DELTA in past years is currently planning this retreat for all participants. They will tell real-life stories of God’s work in their lives so that those listening can reflect on their own lives and see God. Liturgical ritual, worship, and times of contemplation will help those who participate in this retreat realize that their faith doesn’t have to be a perfect journey, but God is in the midst of life and the source of redemption in all things. This year’s DELTA theme verse is Luke 12:25-26, “And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? If then you are not able to do so small a thing as that, why do you worry about the rest?” This verse was chosen by the student leaders to guide the theme for the weekend. Our hope is that students will hear God’s voice as they live out their faith in face of life’s worries. For confirmation students, this can be a pivotal moment in their life; a moment that shows them God’s love in the midst of every day. As they move toward a decision to follow Christ, seeing how other people have seen God move can help them in their journey.
