Lay Readers/Chalice Bearers

Lay readers are members of the congregation who read the Old and New Testament lessons at worship services. Participation is by invitation of the rector. Candidates audition and attend training sessions and occasional refresher courses.

Chalice bearers assist the clergy in leading worship by leading prayers and assisting at the Lord’s Table during Holy Eucharist. Participation is by invitation of the rector. Candidates attend training sessions and occasional refresher courses.
