The Christmas Gift Basket program has been a huge success at St. Mark’s for many years. The Salvation Army Gift Basket program provides Christmas gifts for local families who are experiencing extreme circumstances. A family only qualifies for this program once in a lifetime.
This year we have a shorter time frame for this ministry than in the past. The Salvation Army will be giving us family information on November 15 and will be picking up the gifts on December 3. In anticipation of this quick turn-around, we are taking a two-tiered approach:
- Gift cards in any amount, starting in August from
- As always, St. Markers will be asked to select families and to fill baskets for them. The gift cards will be used to fill in any gaps that remain.
We hope to have the gift card donations early, to help enable the shoppers get a quick start before we all get ready for Thanksgiving. Gift cards can be placed in offering plates or dropped off in the church office. Please write the amount on the card.
We are grateful that St. Markers are generous people when it comes to helping those in need. Please contact Lisa Paulson, firstname.lastname@example.org, with any questions, or if you would like to serve as a shopper.
