Property Commission

The responsibilities of the Property Commission include property maintenance, such as the physical facility, mechanical and equipment maintenance, electrical, HVAC, cosmetic appearance, plumbing, doors, locks and keys, cleaning service, and all aspects of the grounds and landscaping. The scope of these services includes the Church, Chapel, Rectory and parking lot.

We are also responsible for security and safety, including shut down and lock up procedures, fire alarms and equipment, grounds surveillance, mechanical or electrical equipment that could cause injury, city codes for public facilities, evacuation procedures in case of emergency, weather related maintenance (snow plowing and shoveling, etc.), and 360 degree community impact.

We schedule project and secure required bids from approved contractors or vendors including the specifications of the work to be done, scope of the project and timeline for completion. At all times the committee tries to implement the process of bidding contractors that specify time and materials not to exceed amount. The Sexton on an as-needed basis coordinates all internal projects from staff members.

The Property Commission monitors the use of all facilities and uses by staff, congregation and outside community services, including weddings, AA Meetings, etc., which require access to the building and property. Normal wear and tear is evaluated and the appropriate maintenance is requisitioned.

We meet the first Monday of every month from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. Anyone interested in attending is welcome.
