Prayer Ministers

The duties of a Prayer Minister at the Eucharist are simply stated: To be available to those who desire prayer; to listen, to love, to pray. Not to judge, criticize, advise or counsel.

Each Sunday at the 9:00 and 10:30 services, a team of two Prayer Ministers offers prayers for anyone who comes back to the prie-dieu (prayer desk) requesting prayers. These can be prayers for healing, guidance, comfort... prayers for any reason. At the same time, prayers are offered for the requests listed on the Prayer Request Cards. These are cards that are filled out at the information desk at the front of the narthex and placed in a special box. Each team of Ministers is usually scheduled once a month to serve at the prie-dieu. They are compassionate, non-judgmental, discreet, encouraging, trustworthy, and confidentiality is an absolute must. Prayer Ministers serve as channels, or pipelines, for God's grace... "God's helpers."

Please visit the St. Mark's home page for a link to this month's rota.
