Greeters
The Greeters of St. Mark's are a group of friendly,
outgoing people who are a part of a ministry in Christ to greet everyone
who comes through the doors of our church and introduce newcomers to other
St. Markers. The Greeters know where the various classes for adults and
children meet, and know and recognize each person on the staff, in order
to help direct visitors and newcomers.
The Greeters arrive at church at least 15 minutes prior
to their assigned service. They wear name tags throughout the service, so
that if they meet someone new, they can be recognized again. They greet
people at the door with a smile, and ask visitors to sign the guest book.
If a visitor has children, The Greeter will take the children to their
assigned classes and introduce them to the superintendent or the Director
of Children's Ministries. If the visitor has a baby, the Greeter can
direct them to a nursery if they wish to use it. The Greeters will also
point out any sign-up sheets that are on the information table, and are
familiar with our church's opportunities for ministry, and can offer
information about them if asked.
The term of commitment for a Greeter is two years.
