Sunday School

The Program
The Sunday School program for children from age 3 through grade 5 seeks to teach, train and introduce children to the stories of the Bible and to learn to apply these stories to their own lives.
Pre-School --- Ages 3, 4/5 (pre-K)
Three and four year olds participate in a curriculum which includes Bible stories with related activities, music and crafts to reinforce the Bible story.
School-ages --- Grades K - 5
Elementary-ages children study the Old Testament in the fall and New Testament in the winter and spring. During the three-year cycle, the children will have an overview of the entire Bible. Lessons consist of Bible stories, activities, games and Scripture memory.
The second-grade class does a special study to help them know more about the sacrament of Holy Eucharist. Some families choose to make this the preparation to receive communion, and others who already partake, learn more about the church year, those who lead the service, and, most importantly, what the Eucharist is all about.
Fifth graders (boys and girls are separated) study current issues of importance to these young men and women in their desire to become young people of integrity; to know what the Bible says and how to live out their lives integrating what they have learned.

Each age/grade level has special memory work such as the Lord's Prayer, Psalm 23 or the books of the Bible. Special presentations are made several times a year by the children.
